Cecile Thomson, B.Ed. owner and operator of renew YOGA FITNESS HEALING has practiced and studied yoga for some thirty-five years.  She has been teaching in the Saskatoon community for more than fifteen years.  While in university, her studies in movement education coincided with her discovery of yoga at which time she developed her own regular, private yoga practice.
Some years later,
she was involved in a car accident in which the car rolled on her.  She sustained multiple injuries including a broken back at T4. She credits the fact that her spinal cord was not severed and withstood the impact of that roll over, to her previous years of Yoga practice. Because all yoga poses center around the alignment of the spine, the strength and flexibility of her spine developed over the years prevented her from dire consequences.  During her recovery, traditional methods of rehabilitation were unavailable to her so she learned and used Transcendental Meditation techniques which, in conjunction  with her Yoga, provided a natural path of rehabilitation and have continued to be virtual life lines - physically, mentally and spiritually.

She has worked, and trained with many teachers over the years, practiced, studied and experienced a wide range of different yoga styles such as Iyengar, Ashtanga, Power, Bikram, Himalayan, and  Anusara.  Her main influence remains centered in traditional Hatha yoga - developing meditative awareness of body, mind and breath. She continues to study yoga,  anatomy, body kinesthetics, movement and mind healing processes and therapies.  Cecile is a Level II Usui Reike practitioner. (See our Healing page)
Most recently she completed the third module of The Keller Method Therapeutic Ball & Myofascial Stretch Techniques. (Special Classes will begin October 3 for more info see Announcements page)

Jaela Shockey discovered yoga during university when involved in a number of athletic pursuits.  In her experience, she found that yoga not only promotes a sense of well-being and peace, but also provides relief from physical pain, including back pain, mental
stress  and strain; naturally  transforming negative to positive energy.  Yoga also enabled Jaela to recover quickly from a number of sports injuries that persisted despite various other treatments.  Jaela found the power of yoga to be healing and transformative, mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally. It also led her to further explore avenues for personal growth, connection and unity, to find balance between humans, nature, and the energy that encompasses all of life.

Jaela is a yoga instructor whose practice focuses on unifying the body, mind, and spirit through connection with the breath. Trained in vinyasa yoga, her classes involve flowing through asanas (postures) with mindfulness of pranayama (breath control).
Mindfulness and
awareness are obtained through meditation and practice. Yoga is a life journey that allows personal growth and transformation.
Jaela is trained through Trinity Yoga, having completed her Level I Yoga Teacher Training Certificate toward the 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification. She looks forward to continuing her yoga journey with you. Namaste – the light in me recognizes the light in you!

Norma Coulterman’s first introduction to yoga was some thirty years ago when she watched a friend use yoga postures to speed recovery from the flu.  Shortly after that, having begun the practise of Transcendental Meditation, she attended a TM weekend residence retreat where she learned to use yoga as preparation for meditation. As a result, she has been practicing both yoga and TM on a daily basis ever since.  In recent years, she began exploring yoga which, after having taken various classes, eventually led her to complete the Sacred Ground Teacher Training Program.
Norma’s practice of both Yoga and TM, parallel her interests of teaching, learning and healing.  A Home Based Educator, she home schooled her two children.  She has training in Reflexology, Reiki and Thai Massage. But, further studies have led her to train in her main practice of Ayurveda Transdermal Marma Therapy, with Vaidya R.K. Mishra.  Norma is currently continuing her studies  with Vaidya R.K. Mishra in Ayurveda, a natural health care system from India which, like yoga, dates back some 5000 years.
She looks forward to working with you on the mat.

Deborah Parker-Fiddler has studied, practiced and experienced different types of yoga periodically over the past many years.  Deborah has her Level 1 in Reiki and Level 1 in Quantum Touch Healing.  A few years back while taking a Life Skills Program with Neale Donald Walsch – Deborah was introduced to Dahn (Energy) Yoga.  Dahn (Energy) Yoga touched her soul - it resonated the brain and body connection thru energy. “To be healthy – I needed my 3 bodies (physical, spiritual and emotional) to be balanced. “

Deborah began her journey with Body N Brain Holistic Centre by learning the Dahn (Energy) Yoga program.  She practiced, learned and studied thru workshops (Finding True Self ---Healing Hands ---Opening Energy Centre ---Initial Awakening ---Dahn Healing System---ChuHwa Meditation – In Full Bloom –Brain Education Leadership) that gave her the tools to build a healthy physical foundation – so she could have the opportunity to work thru her emotional feelings – allowing her a clearer spiritual focus and connection within herself.  Deborah has Brain Management Consultant – License to teach Dahn(Energy) Yoga. She has Brain Education Leadership Program to offer programs working with Children- flexing the body and brain; as well as offering programs to Seniors for Successful Aging.

Before coming to Saskatoon  - Deborah taught BE for kids and assisted with Dahn(Energy) Yoga teaching and other programs offered in Calgary.

Deborah looks forward to sharing this healing yoga with you.
