Reike is a "hands on" Japanese technique which releases the body
of stress and blocked energy. Allowing the body to achieve a state of deep release and relaxation, Reiki restores physical balance and mental clarity.
The word Reiki is actually two words. "Rei" as it is used in Reiki is
interpreted to mean higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness.
It is the wisdom that comes from God or the Higher Self. The God - Consciousness which is all knowing and understands each person completely, knows the cause of all problems and difficulties and how to heal them."Ki" is the vital life force or universal life force energy. It means the same as Chi in Chinese and Prana in Sanskrit. "Ki" is the non-physical energy that animates all living things. It animates the body and is the primary energy of our emotions, thoughts and spiritual life.
The God-Consciousness called "Rei" guides the life energy called "Ki" in the practice we call Reiki. Defined as spiritually guided life energy, the experience most people have is of the Reiki guiding itself with its own wisdom rather than requiring the direction of the practitioner. Reiki is a special kind of healing energy that can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it by a Reiki Master.
